HAW RIVER, NC — Andersen Sterilizers, a medical device manufacturer located in Haw River, North Carolina, will host Senator Amy S. Galey (Rep) as it celebrates 40 years of manufacturing in North Carolina. The event, which takes place at Health Science Park in Haw River, North Carolina, will be held on Friday, July 17, at noon.

“We are delighted that Sen. Galey can join us to celebrate the success of Andersen Sterilizers as part of the growing manufacturing renaissance here in North Carolina,” said A.E. “Ted” May, president, Andersen Sterilizers. “We would also like to acknowledge the role that the state government played in the Andersen success story. Over 40 years ago, Andersen was a small medical device company based in New England. As the company grew, our founder began to consider other locations on the East Coast. Representatives of the North Carolina government recruited our company aggressively and ultimately provided Andersen with support for our relocation to Alamance County. Today, Andersen is a nationally recognized medical technology company that is selling its products in over 50 countries around the world. Just this week, we were acknowledged as one of the largest employers in the Triad. As our state representative, Senator Galey has been a strong advocate for local business. We are proud to have her here today to commemorate what is possible when State government and business work together.”

Established by surgeon, scientist and entrepreneur H.W. Andersen, M.D., in North Carolina more than 40 years ago, Andersen Sterilizers is the leader in in-house Ethylene Oxide-Flexible Chamber Technology (EO-FCT) sterilization, Dr. Andersen’s patented discovery, in the U.S. and around the world. For decades, Andersen, whose innovative products are manufactured in the U.S. (primarily in NC), has focused on the design and manufacturing of effective and affordable low-temperature sterilization solutions for healthcare, veterinary, research, and manufacturing markets. Andersen’s AN75 and EOGas 4 systems have won multiple governmental awards and are FDA-cleared, with its newest release, EOGas 4PLUS, being recognized by FDA as the only system in the world able to terminally sterilize the longest lumens (colonoscopes).

“It’s an honor to be included in the 40th anniversary celebration of Andersen Sterilizers,” said Sen. Galey. “Dr. Andersen and his team have demonstrated the innovation and growth possible in a favorable business environment. As we remember the courage and vision of the American patriots 250 years ago, we should also take time to recognize vital community partners like Andersen Sterilizers.”
